IFWA-40 - What kind of external antennas can I use with the AT&T Wireless Internet?

The external antenna connectors on the back of the AT&T Wireless Internet device are used to boost the cellular signal strength in situations where the internal antennas may be insufficient.

Any external cellular antenna with an SMA Male connector can be used. We recommend getting one that covers the following frequencies:

  • LTE: 700 MHz to 2300 MHz
  • WCDMA: 826 MHz to 1852 MHz

It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the antenna gain operates within the FCC’s requirements.
