Problem: My NB1200 will not work for me even though I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times; sometimes the DUN icon will not appear on the desktop.
Reason: Most problems with the NB1200 are related to incorrectly or improperly installed drivers.
Solution: Most of the problems can be resolved simply by following the steps below:
- Uninstall the existing drivers as per normal through "Add/remove programs" in control Panel.
- Shut down the computer and detach the modem for a short period of time.
- Startup your computer, then simply locate the file "cleanup.exe" on the root of the NB1200 installer CD and run it. This program will uninstall all the unnecessary files from your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Copy the Advanced folder from the CD to your Desktop.
Disable all background programs on your Taskbar (where the clock is located) especially the antivirus and firewall programs as they can interfere with the installation process, and then run the Setup from the Advanced folder on your desktop. Simply follow the Advanced setup instructions from your manual to finish reinstalling.
